Birch Tree Mural

I promised pictures of what we did a Mel's house. So here are a few for your viewing pleasure.
Please keep in mind I didn't get to stick around till it was completely finished so these are pretty rough "in progress" pictures.

The pillow Mel made. It's her baby. We took the leftover fabric from the chair (miscalculation on my part) and made it into a pom pomed throw on the back of the sofa. It actually ties the chair in nicely. (the left over pom poms made it onto a lamp shade. :)

My pillow contribution. Bought the doily at an antique store (with a ton of others) for super cheap cause they were on sale. Pinned and sewed it on, then did a running stitch with a wool yarn around it in a few concentric circles. it's pretty dang cool in real life.

Added two more book cases and painted the backs of all of them a light gold.
Before and after. Her husband hated this Queen Anne before we got it recovered. Opted for brass tacks instead of cording and it was infinitely easier. Plus it just looks cool.
Further to the left side of this picture is the dinning room/kitchen it's a pale blue. We tied in the dark purple of the walls with a playful floral print on the drapes. Those tab topped beauties cover the sliding glass doors that lead to the backyard. unfortunately I don't have a picture of them. Next time I visit though!

The rest of the mural. we ended up hanging the elegant cream colored family dream catcher (Mel is native american) from that left branch over the piano. It's a subtle indication of their heritage that blends in perfectly with the paint job.
