...well, first off, I'll start by saying, a whole heck of a lot less than I had planned and certainly none of the sewing projects I actually need to get done....like this quilt:
(I need the pins to work on another quilt--UGH)
I'm so easily distracted up there among all my projects, you know? It's like they're little children all clamoring for my attention and the tallest one (the one on the top of the pile) gets first pick because it's easier to hear, and not necessarily based on the urgency with which it needs to get done. Thus I give to you my new(ish) skirt!
Basically I just added the bottom ruffle to the lining and the lace to the top skirt portion. Want to see it close up? Good. Scroll down.
The reasoning behind the revamp is that the skirt on its own, while cute, is a tiny bit too short when I sit for my taste (I don't like to have to shave above my knees). Hence the added length, that and it was kind of boring. I think before now I've only worn it once. And maybe tried it on twice (in the four or so years I've owned it).
Next I have a little thing I saw Sarah Jessica Parker do in an ad for something another a gazillion years ago. I thought to myself, hey that's kind of cute. I'm very "into" asymetrical clothing lately. I wish more of my stuff was off-kilter. Then it'd really start to represent the person it was covering.
Also, it's a great way to show off your antique brooch collection! :D
And lastly, a little teaser for my current clothing adaptation/high fashion project. (I use the term "high fashion" loosely as I'm not really anything more than a dabbler when it comes to clothing)
Don't you love photos taken in a bathroom mirror? I guess I can be proud that the glass is at least clean...that means I have class you know. ;)
I love that your making that skirt with a fabric pattern you wouldn't normally see on a skirt! I would def. buy something like that. (though I'm not a fan of plaid, it still complements it well)
ReplyDeleteI really like the asymmetrical broach, sweater thing. I love it when you post your new stuff!!!
