....is that my best friend Mel and I rock! in the course of about three and a half days we completely redid her living/front room. It looks like a completely different space. And seeing her so happy reminds me why I got my degree in the first place.
Included in our adventures are the following:
-Refurbishing 6 pieces of furniture, three of which included re-upholstry
-Putting together 2 bookcases and filling 4 of them with books
-Painting the walls dark purple. one wall with birch tree sillouetes
-3 ultra cool pillow cases.
-Fringing some existing curtains (it was sooo hard to find something we liked that was in our price range)
-Tie backs and two full length curtains for the sliding door in the kitchen
-A zebra striped throw for the back of the sofa (with green POM POMS!!!!)
-and a TON of thrift store shopping.
we're both so tired of Walmart, Lowe's, Goodwill and yes, even Jo-ann's. In a word: Ugh.
However whirlwind designing has it's perks. For example everything get's done. You don't give up on the small stuff that really makes the difference. And you don't have to live in that half transition of two different styles. The immediate gratification of seeing it done is very fulfilling. Don't worry, pictures of our handiwork are coming....but not till I get home. Still on vaca you know. ;) Till later gator.
